Borne out of the necessity to find competent artisans, materials and products, and understanding the language barriers many newcomers to Spain experience, we offer our services to assist and to point clients in the right direction.

We have all experienced first-hand the difficulties in finding competent artisans, know the pitfalls, and can advise in the many aspects of maintenance, reform and rebuild.

.... and why 'el Hondonico'?

Because el Hondonico is where we are based!

el Hondonico is a very small hamlet near Cañada de la Leña, set amongst groves of Peach, Pear, Almond, Olive and Vineyards. Originally the valley in which Cañada de la Leña is situated was known as 'Los Martinez'.

The Martinez family (The families were originally from Leon & Navarra in the North of Spain) were landowners who built a very impressive grand country house below the mountains separating the valley from Barinas and Macisvenda. Although still farmed, the original finca has all but disappeared.

Part of the original house is occupied, and a row of workers cottages are slowly falling into disrepair.

One of the cottages still bears the crest of the Martinez family, and the original well still produces water.
